Our Six Distinct Objectives are Grounded in Scripture and Biblical Principles. We believe in…

Prayer

Our work is a spiritual work and we cannot achieve anything of eternal value apart from God. Therefore, we celebrate and demonstrate our dependence on the Lord giving thanks, seeking His guidance, and lifting ministry needs before Him in prayer.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

“Then He spoke a parable to them that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.” (Luke 18:1)

Compassion for the Lost and Hurting

“Let my heart be broken with the things that break the heart of God,” Bob Pierce

“Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.” (Colossians 3:12-13)

The Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37)

Serving with Excellence

A serving heart reflects the posture and attitude most conducive to effectively carrying out the ministry we have been entrusted with. As ambassadors of the Lord Jesus Christ, we desire to serve with excellence.

“Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.” (Ephesians 6:5-8)

“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” (Colossians 3:17)

Acting with Courage and Faith

Courage to initiate; Attempt great things for God, expect great things from God.

“The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:17)

“Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:14-18)

“By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks. By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:4-6)

Biblical Truth

The Bible is the infallible Word of God; it is true; it is our reference for what we believe, teach, and preach; it guides how we live, how we work, and how we care for one another.

“Salvation is far from the wicked, For they do not seek Your statutes. Great are Your tender mercies, O LORD; Revive me according to Your judgments. Many are my persecutors and my enemies, Yet I do not turn from Your testimonies. I see the treacherous, and am disgusted, Because they do not keep Your word. Consider how I love Your precepts; Revive me, O LORD, according to Your lovingkindness. The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.” (Psalm 119:155-162)

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.” (1 Corinthians 13:6)

“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35)

Proclaiming the Gospel

Spread the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to all we can by every effective means available to us. Giving people the opportunity to accept or reject Jesus. Equip others to spread Gospel, Ensure new believers are discipled.

“And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)

“And He said to them, “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”” (Romans 10:14-15)

Making a Difference: Why We Love Serving at Samaritan’s Purse

“It’s such a blessing to work in an organization that truly strives to be the hands and feet of Christ. The culture is supportive, and prayer is a key value which means we get to pause in the midst of our workday to pray for one another or for things going on in the world.”

– Katrina, International Volunteer Coordinator

“Samaritan’s Purse is an organization where I have been able to use my professional skills as an accountant to serve God in a tangible way. SP has also enabled me to develop spiritual leadership skills through leading departmental devotions and praying regularly with my co-workers. Also our Thanksgiving potluck is really good!”

– Maria, Accountant

“I love working with a supportive and collaborative team on a project that is not only making a positive impact on millions of children around the world, but is also an evangelical outreach program resulting in millions of children making decisions to follow Christ. It is great to be part of a passionate and dedicated team that supports me and inspires me to strive for excellence in my work.”

– Stefani, Volunteer Relations Coordinator

“I am so excited to be part of this team! To be able to come to work every day to a place where the people genuinely care about you, extend grace to you, support you, and pray with you is an incredible blessing. To work with people who are passionate about what they do and are actively pursuing God’s purposes for them and this ministry is amazing. I have done a lot of different jobs and been part of several ministries but the atmosphere here is unique and special and it is truly a joy to work here.”
