Project Support Coordinator

Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented administrator with a servant’s heart? Do you find fulfillment in supporting teams and ensuring projects run smoothly? If so, Samaritan’s Purse Canada (SPC) invites you to consider joining our team! We are looking for a dedicated Projects Support Coordinator to provide essential administrative assistance to our Programs & Projects Department (P&PD), helping us to fulfill our mission of providing spiritual and physical aid to those in need.

Samaritan’s Purse is a Christian international relief organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world.  Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet the needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ.

As a Projects Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing essential administrative support for international aid projects, ensuring efficient and accountable use of donor resources. This role involves coordinating award documentation, processing payments, and maintaining accurate records. As a valued member of the Samaritan’s Purse Canada team, you will contribute to fulfilling our mission and objectives, including participation in daily devotions and prayer ministry.

This is a full-time 1-year maternity coverage contract position based in our Calgary head office. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including life insurance, medical and dental coverage, and short-term/long-term disability benefits. Additionally, you’ll benefit from free parking and 15 days of vacation annually.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal departments across Samaritan’s Purse
  • Support Project and Program Managers with essential administrative tasks including legal agreement preparation, anti-terrorism checks, and obtaining/tracking necessary approvals
  • Coordinate award payment process, ensuring timely and accurate submission of documentation, following up with stakeholders, and maintaining updated systems – including weekly financial reporting
  • Serve as a key point of contact for implementers regarding administrative documentation and provide support when Project Managers are unavailable
  • Maintain the accuracy and completeness of our award management system, diligently track award status and related activity
  • Collaborate with the team to close out award files, ensuring accountability, accuracy, and full regulatory compliance
  • Assist in preparing reports for the Board of Directors and other audiences as needed
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve administrative processes and contribute to problem-solving
  • Provide helpful feedback and assistance to the P&PD team regarding award administration, dashboards, and outstanding issues

Qualifications:

  • Qualified applicants should be committed to Christian values and precepts and be in agreement with the Samaritan’s Purse Statement of Faith
  • Post-secondary diploma in an administrative field (Business Administration, Human Resources)
  • 1-3 years of experience in an administrative role
  • International field or travel experience is considered a valuable asset
  • Fluency in French or Spanish (written and spoken) is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detailed oriented, thorough, and accurate
  • Strong administration, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to coordinate and multi-task
  • Able to work independently with little supervision, while being in a team environment
  • Excellent written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to produce clear, accurate, and well-edited documents
