Your prayers and support are bringing hope and Christ’s love to P.E.I. residents in the wake of Hurricane Fiona.
Early each morning, volunteers gather near our Disaster Relief Unit tractor trailer to pray before heading out to serve in Jesus’ Name.
Samaritan’s Purse teams arrived in P.E.I. immediately after the September storm. Cornerstone Baptist Church (background) in Stratford, P.E.I. has faithfully served as home base.
Hurricane Fiona, which tore through Atlantic Canada in September, was one of the strongest storms to ever hit our nation. More than 500 families have called for help amid the widespread damage.
Samaritan’s Purse teams, including an expert arborist, have been hard at work removing hundreds of trees from homes and properties.
Our teams take care of the small details, raking up leaves and small branches to make a family’s property to feel a little more like home after disaster.
It can take an army. A large team of volunteers helps one homeowner remove a dozen large trees that came down on her property, four on her house.
Our teams are never too busy to stop and pray with homeowners while they cope with aftermath of the storm.
At the end of each job, our teams present every homeowner with a Bible signed by the team, a reminder of God’s love for them.
“You guys showed up like a gift from God,” one homeowner told our teams as they helped him remove dozens of fallen trees that choked his property.
“I can’t believe the difference. It’s amazing. Thank you,” Debbie, one of the homeowners said. Your prayers and support are a blessing in Jesus’ Name on Prince Edward Island.
