Samaritan’s Purse helping Quebec flood victims

Weary Gatineau residents thank Samaritan’s Purse for flood relief assistance

UPDATED JUNE 13, 2019
Thanks to generous supporters like you, homeowners impacted by flooding in Gatineau, QC received physical and spiritual help from Samaritan’s Purse Canada.

Our team worked alongside volunteers to clean out flooded basements and sprayed to prevent harmful mold, at no charge to residents. 42 volunteers served with Samaritan’s Purse to help 29 homeowners.

“To have someone like you and your team (providing help) meant a lot to my husband,” wrote one Gatineau resident after receiving help from Samaritan’s Purse.

“He was overwhelmed by your sympathy and compassion. Your act of kindness came exactly when we needed it the most.”

Second flood in three years

Many Gatineau residents were forced out of their homes for several weeks, until water levels finally receded enough for emergency officials to allow access to their neighborhoods.

Samaritan’s Purse volunteers just finished serving in the Fredericton, New Brunswick area, mudding out homes that were hard-hit by recent flooding. Volunteers are currently serving with Samaritan’s Purse to help flood victims in Ottawa.
