Please join us in caring for desperate victims of the Mindanao Earthquake

Your donations will help provide emergency assistance to survivors of the deadly Mindanao Earthquake

Earthquake victims in the Philippines are struggling and in need of help. The trouble began in October when a series of three quakes rattled the North Cotabato region on the southern island of Mindanao.

The first two, on October 16 and 29, registered at 6.3 and 6.5 in magnitude, and affected 30,000 people. On Oct. 31, the third 6.6-magnitude quake, with its epicenter in the Tunanan province, caused the most damage, and brought the total number of affected people to over 235,000.

The primary communities impacted are Tulanan, Kidapawan, Makilala, and Magsaysay, all in North Cotabato. Reports indicate that 20,921 homes are severely damaged in the city of Makilala, along with 757 schools and 37 health facilities. Authorities expect it will take months for families to get back on their feet again.

“Samaritan’s Purse is responding with physical aid and a message of hope for victims of this disaster,” says Ian Stokes, Samaritan’s Purse Canada’s international disaster response unit manager. “Your prayers and financial support will share Jesus’ love by providing items like safe water, food, shelter, medical supplies, personnel, and other aid.”

Your donation of just $30 can provide a family with 3-5 days of food. For $35, you can provide a temporary tarp shelter. For $50, you can help a household with blankets, sleeping mats, a cooking kit, a solar lamp and mosquito nets.

Please come alongside Samaritan’s Purse with your prayers and financial support, as we seek to share the love of Jesus with Filipinos in need.
