Samaritan’s Purse is a Christian international relief organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet the needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ.
As the Resource Development Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our donor acquisition, retention, and engagement strategies across Canada. This position offers a unique blend of administrative support, data analysis, event coordination, and direct engagement with foundations and donors. You’ll be a key contributor to a team dedicated to building lasting relationships and securing the resources needed to fulfill SPC’s life-changing mission. As an integral member of the Donor Ministries department, this role will help SPC carry out its mission and objectives through participation in the daily prayer ministry.
The successful candidate will fulfill a full-time 1-year contract position in the Calgary head office. This position includes benefits of life insurance, medical/dental and short-term/long-term disability, RRSP contributions after one year of employment, and 15 vacation days per year to start.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Monitoring and supporting the implementation of acquisition and retention initiatives, analyzing donor data, and identifying opportunities to grow and engage existing and lapsed donors. This includes conducting prospect research and identifying potential new donors.
- Ensuring accurate data tracking within the donor database and CRM system, and contributing to data integrity.
- Assisting with research, proposal development, and presentations to foundations and corporate businesses.
- Serving as a key stakeholder in planning and executing fundraising events, campaigns, and responsive events across Canada, including logistical support, volunteer coordination, and post-event follow-up.
- Implementing the treatment plan for foundations and donors who have committed to planned charitable giving, ensuring ongoing communication and stewardship.
- Helping to craft compelling communications for donors, including letters, emails, and reports, in collaboration with the Resource Development Specialist.
- Providing backup support to the call team or data processing team when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Qualified applicants should be committed to Christian values and precepts and be in agreement with the Samaritan’s Purse Statement of Faith.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, marketing, or a related role in the non-profit sector.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using CRM systems for data management, report generation, and prospect research.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, accurate, and efficient with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication styles to diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently, and take initiative.
- Willingness to travel to support the Donor Ministry team.
- Knowledgeable of the Canadian charitable landscape and relevant regulations.
