Samaritan’s Purse Canada (SPC) is seeking a dedicated Logistics and Warehouse Coordinator to join our International Disaster Response Team!
Samaritan’s Purse is a Christian international relief organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet the needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ.
As our Logistics and Warehouse Coordinator, you will be an essential part of our team, ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of vital supplies destined for disaster relief and international programs. You’ll be responsible for everything from receiving and organizing inventory to preparing shipments and ensuring compliance with shipping regulations. This role offers a unique opportunity to utilize your skills and contribute directly to our mission of providing hope and assistance to those facing difficult circumstances. As an integral member of our team, this role will help SPC carry out its mission and objectives through participation in daily prayer ministry.
The successful candidate will fulfill a full-time permanent position in the Calgary head office. This position includes benefits of life insurance, medical/dental and short-term/long-term disability, RRSP contributions after one year of employment, and 15 vacation days per year to start.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinating day-to-day warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, storage, and movement of materials for domestic and international projects.
- Receiving, inspecting, and accurately documenting incoming shipments, verifying items against purchase orders and noting any damage or discrepancies.
- Preparing and packaging outgoing shipments by air or sea, completing required shipping, customs, and freight documentation.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records across all stages of warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and staging.
- Conducting regular cycle counts and supporting annual physical inventory to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Coordinating the storage and organization of materials within the warehouse, ensuring items are stored safely and in designated locations.
- Supporting logistics for disaster response and project deployments, including assisting with air cargo preparation and customs documentation (training provided).
- Working closely with internal teams and external partners (e.g., freight forwarders, aviation and customs partners) to ensure timely and compliant shipments.
- Supporting inventory tracking and handling specialized items, including non-food items, gift-in-kind materials, and medical supplies, as needed.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant policies, safety standards, and domestic and international shipping regulations.
- Assisting with warehouse organization, cleaning, and occasional reconfiguration projects to maintain an efficient and safe workspace.
- Providing general logistical support to program and project teams as required.
Qualifications:
- Qualified applicants should be committed to Christian values and precepts and be in agreement with the Samaritan’s Purse Statement of Faith.
- Diploma in a related field (Supply Chain Management, Logistics & Transportation, Warehouse Operations, etc.)
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Previous experience in warehouse operations, inventory receiving, international shipping and customs regulations.
- Previous air cargo experience will be considered an asset.
