CDR Volunteer Application - Generic

A severe wildfire, called the “Wolf Fire” burned through 71,000 hectares in Denare Beach, SK by early June. The fire’s intensity allowed it to leap across water bodies and overwhelm local firefighting efforts. Only 10 homes survived.

Samaritan’s Purse Canada is sending staff, volunteers, and equipment including our Disaster Relief Units (DRU), to help the community.

Volunteers will assist with tasks such as debris removal, property clean-up, and ash-sifting. Please note, volunteers must be clean-shaven to ensure a proper seal for the half-mask respirators.

Volunteers will receive an on-site orientation and will serve with an experienced leaders. Equipment and tools are provided. Ages 16-17 need parental/guardian consent. Transportation to Denare Beach is your responsibility. Day volunteers receive lunch, snacks, and water; overnight volunteers also get breakfast and dinner.

Shifts run Monday-Saturday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, starting with an orientation at 7:30 am on the first day. Sunday is a rest day.

Limited shared accommodations are available for those approved based on space and a background check. Don’t book travel until accommodations are confirmed.
