As Samaritan’s Purse responds to the destruction left by Hurricane Michael, we are inviting Canadian volunteers to help devastated homeowners in Jesus’ name.
January 6-13, 2019
Hurricane Michael has affected several areas in Florida, and we are inviting Canadian volunteers to join us in responding. Activities will vary throughout the week-long shifts that are offered, but work may include tarping roofs, tree removal, mudding out homes, chainsaw work, and carrying heavy debris.
Travel and Accommodations
Samaritan’s Purse will coordinate the details of travel, including flights from a major Canadian city to Panama City, medical insurance while in the US, transportation in the area, food, and accommodations. Each Canadian volunteer will fly down on a Sunday, spend the week serving local homeowners alongside Canadian and American volunteers, and return back home the following Sunday. Accommodations will be basic, and volunteers will be sleeping in shared quarters at a local church.
Donation Amount: $1,000
The above donation amount is tax-deductible and covers all team costs such as airfare, medical insurance, accommodations, and meals. In addition to the minimum $1,000 donation to cover these costs, we would challenge each volunteer to raise additional funds toward Samaritan’s Purse relief efforts. Funds may be donated by the volunteer or raised through a Samaritan’s Purse online sponsorship page.
If you would like to join us, please complete the full volunteer application for the week(s) that you would serve. Full details about fundraising and other instructions will be sent to volunteers upon acceptance to a shift. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or email us.
If you have any questions or concerns, or would like to discuss this opportunity with us, please don’t hesitate to call or email!
