Samaritan’s Purse Canada (SPC) is seeking a Senior Project Communications Specialist who will be responsible for gathering and maintaining compelling content and messaging of Samaritan’s Purse Canada (SPC) Ministry activities. This position represents, serves and facilitates the communications interests of the Programs and Projects Department (P&PD) to all outward facing organizational departments. As an integral member of the Programs and Projects department, this role will help SPC carry out its mission and objectives through participation in daily prayer ministry. The successful candidate will fulfill a full-time permanent position in the Calgary office


  • Responsible to produce accurate and excellent content from the organizational information gathered through various reliable sources
  • Sources or facilitates the flow of appropriate human-interest stories and factually oriented information, photos, and video from SP field offices, SP’s ministry partners, and traveling field staff for use by
  • Acts as a point of contact for information to other internal departments and teams
  • Responsible to present and execute story ideas and helps to identify key SPC personnel and partners to be interviewed by news media or Communications & Creative Services department
  • Responsible to investigate opportunities for donor segment growth through communication initiatives in collaboration with internal departments
  • May have the opportunity to travel internationally and domestically to engage directly with ministry activities

(2-3 trips /year)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite computer applications
  • Excellent writing abilities and interview techniques
  • Strong administration, organization and prioritization skills
  • Ability to coordinate information from different sources
  • Strong multi-task skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable
  • Able to work independently while participating in a team environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications and/or Marketing, or equivalent work experience

At least two years’ experience in a professional Communications and/or Marketing role
