International Field Administrator

Region: Calgary, AB

Samaritan’s Purse Canada (SPC) is seeking an International Field Administrator to administrate and directly support the ongoing growth and development of the Operation Christmas Child (OCC) international volunteer ministry networks and discipleship program, The Greatest Journey. This role will also coordinate the various tasks that contribute to the efficiency and overall effectiveness of the international team.

As an integral member of the OCC team, this role will help SPC carry out its mission and objectives through participation in daily prayer ministry. The successful candidate will fulfill a full-time position in the Calgary head office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compiles and prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports in order to accurately communicate departmental activities
  • Supports OCC Management in budget management
  • Organizes and maintains a current filing system and database for volunteers serving internationally
  • Processes and administers Travel Authorizations, Expense Reports and Purchase Orders for the international field team
  • Administers and tracks travel and vacation schedules
  • Provides general assistance to staff and international volunteers, including but not limited to: travel visa applications, purchase of airfares, and expense reimbursements
  • Assists in the planning and preparation of conferences
  • Supports international headquarters through providing team and field updates
  • Provides support to the development and maintenance of policy, procedures and reporting
  • Able to travel internationally to the USA and developing countries for up to 10 days at a time, 2-3 times per year

Qualifications:

  • Qualified applicants should be committed to Christian values and precepts and be in agreement with the Samaritan’s Purse Statement of Faith
  • Excels at office administration, organization and finances
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment
  • Ability and patience to work with international ministry partners whose first language is not English
  • Takes initiative
  • Ability to adapt to working in other cultural contexts
  • Has a positive outlook and is approachable
  • Maintains confidentiality of information
  • University degree, Technical (college) diploma in office administration or a minimum of 5 years related work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in an administrative role, with a focus on finance accountabilities
  • Experience in Volunteer administration and coordination
  • International field or travel experience
  • Spanish or French fluency considered an asset
