In the course of five hours on August 4, 2014 intense weather in the Greater Toronto Area dumped 13 cm ( 5 inches) of rain on the city of Burlington. Flash flooding affected more than 1,000 homes, mostly in the south end of the city between Queen Elizabeth Way and Lake Ontario. Samaritan’s Purse partnered with World Renew to assist with clean-up and recovery efforts.
We were honored to have the Burlington Fire Department volunteer with Samaritan’s Purse to help with flood clean-up.
Help Samaritan’s Purse strengthen the impact of local churches in communities recovering in the aftermath of disasters. As caring Christians are trained and empowered to walk alongside individuals and families to find solutions to complex needs, God opens doors to share the Gospel.
