Since We Received the Water Filter

Lily and her family were often sick because they had to drink dirty water. Once, their sickness was so severe that Lily and her husband couldn’t work on their tea farm for three months. “That time was a waste. It was a total loss,” Lily said.

Without their farm, they didn’t have an income or any way to pay the school fees for their six children, which meant they had to stay home and miss classes. Sometimes, the children were also absent due to typhoid and other waterborne illnesses.

Lily said she never thought it would be possible to gain access to clean water in her remote village. Yet, she desperately wanted her children to be healthy in order to stay in school and get an education.

The health of Lily’s family changed when they received a BioSand Water Filter from Samaritan’s Purse. “I am very appreciative to Samaritan’s Purse,” she said. “We are so joyful and happy. No one has been sick since we received the filter.”

Not only is the family healthier, Lily and her husband are better positioned to afford school fees because they aren’t missing work due to sickness caused by dirty water. “My children’s future will be bright if they go to school,” Lily said. “Their poverty level will reduce and their livelihood will improve.”

Whether in a community, school, or home, when you give safe, plentiful water in Jesus’ Name, He brings life to the body and life to the soul. “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

As we look toward a new year, will you help share life-giving water with thousands more families in need?
