Donations to Samaritan’s Purse helping troubled Laotians improve their lives

Although Bee is the grandson of a Christian pastor, that didn’t stop him from getting involved in drug use and other illegal activities in Laos, the southeast Asian nation where he grew up.

Bee was eventually arrested and convicted. As part of his sentence, he was sent to Transformation Center, a halfway house funded by Canadians like you through Samaritan’s Purse. The center offers up to 25 men and women each year the opportunity to overcome their addictions and gain life, work, and social skills.

“I want to stay at Transformation Center and get stronger before I return (home),” Bee says.

It also offers them Christian discipleship, and that has had a significant impact on many people, including Bee. We praise God that Bee is now leading worship during morning devotions at the center, and staff say he shows signs of becoming a Christian leader.

Many more troubled men and women in Laos and other countries need places where they can receive help and learn about Jesus Christ, who is “faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9, ESV). You can provide that help through your prayers and your donations to Samaritan’s Purse. Please partner with us.

Vocational Training - 080447 Discipleship, Education & Training

In our vocational training programs around the world, Samaritan’s Purse works with people who might not be the first to be hired, but once we give them training and an opportunity, they can become productive, respected, and self-sufficient. We provide widows, single parents, and others the skills they need to do a job or open a small shop.
