Q: What are Samaritan’s Purse Youth Teams?
A: Youth Teams are unique adventures taking youth to all corners of the globe to
be challenged, meet new people, and gain new perspectives. All Youth Teams trips
involve a construction project, a medical clinic, and community development/evangelism,
with the purpose of serving God in places of need. Each trip looks a little different
depending on the culture and needs of the local people.
Q: How can I join a Youth Team?
A: Download the application and reference forms, complete, and mail or fax it to
Samaritan’s Purse Teams. We will contact you to discuss next steps. Forms and contact
information will be made available along with trip opportunities.
Q: How old do I have to be to volunteer for a Samaritan’s
Purse Youth Team?
A: Between the ages of 16 and 20 at the time of the trip. Occasionally, there is
an older age requirement, ex. 17- 20, because of a specific trip schedule.
Q: How many youth trips happen a year?
A: We typically send out at least one Youth Team in the summer (July or August)and one team in the winter (December).
Q: How big are the Youth Teams?
A: The size of the Youth Team varies depending on location and projects. Teams can
be anywhere from 10 to 80 people.
Q: Can I come on a Youth Teams trip if I’m not a Christian?
A: Absolutely! If you don’t consider yourself a Christian, you are still welcome
to come on a trip, as long as you feel you can support the work being done, and
can take part in the schedule, which includes team devotions, prayer, and worship. We value the unique perspective and support each
participant brings to the team.

Q: I have a group of youth I’d like to bring on a missions
trip. How do I do that?
A: Depending on the size of your group, we would love to organize a trip for you.

Q: How much support will have to be raised for a Samaritan’s Purse short-term international mission project?
A: As a trip participant, you are accepting an invitation to join Samaritan’s Purse Canada (SPC) carry out its charitable objectives on an international mission’s project. As an non-profit charitable organization, the costs of this ministry are covered by donations from its constituents. The cost of short-term mission projects can range from $2000-$4000 when calculated on a per person basis. SPC can only undertake each mission project if sufficient funds are raised.
Q: Can we fundraise to raise support for a Samaritan’s Purse short-term international mission project?
A: Yes, we encourage you to fundraise and make your church, friends, and family aware of what you will be doing, and the vision of the Mission Trip. Samaritan’s Purse can help you by providing ways for you and others to donate towards your trip.
Q: Are trip donations tax deductible?
A: Tax receipts will be issued for all gifts to the fullest extent allowed by the law. Once receipted, all gifts are non-refundable.
