Volunteer

“I can’t say enough about the commitment and sheer excitement our volunteers bring to Operation Christmas Child. They truly are the backbone of the project.” – Franklin Graham, International President, Samaritan’s Purse

Worldwide, volunteers form the core of every area of Operation Christmas Child from prayer, to promotion, to logistics, and much more. In Canada, there are many vitally important ways for you to use the talents and gifts God has given you to reach children around the world with Good News and Great Joy.

Serve as a Connect volunteer

Be at the heart of Operation Christmas Child’s mission to reach millions more children with the love of Christ. Join a team of year-round volunteers, known as CONNECT volunteers, who organize, promote, and pray for Operation Christmas Child.

As a Connect Volunteer use your God-given gifts to serve on one these ministry teams in your community: Prayer, Logistics, Church Relations, Community Relations, Media Relations, and Leadership.

Is God calling you to consider serving with Operation Christmas Child in a deeper way? Learn more about Becoming a Connect Volunteer!

Become an OCC project leader

Be the critical link in reaching dozens, hundreds, maybe even thousands of children each year as you lead your church, school, business, or group in packing shoeboxes in the fall.

As a project leader for your organization we will be there to support you every step of the way with our year-round volunteers, promotional materials, empty shoeboxes, and more. Learn more about Leading your Church or Leading your Group, School, or Business.

Volunteer at a Processing Centre

Be the all-important final step in the journey of the shoeboxes before they leave Canada on their way to children around the world.

At one of our three shoebox processing centers, you will work in a fun-filled environment alongside hundreds of other volunteers to inspect each shoebox and ensure that the contents are appropriate for children and meet customs regulations. Come as an individual or bring a group. Shifts in the Processing Center are open for three weeks following National Collection Week (Nov. 17-24, 2014). Learn more about Processing Shoeboxes!

Join a shoebox distribution trip

Be a part of the excitement and the joy of Operation Christmas Child shoebox distributions.

On a shoebox distribution trip you will travel with a team of around 30 other Canadians to work alongside Operation Christmas Child’s national partners overseas to distribute gift-filled shoeboxes. You will also get to witness classes or a graduation event of Operation Christmas Child’s follow up discipleship program, The Greatest Journey. Spaces are limited. Pack Shoeboxes

Be a difference maker in the life of a hurting child by packing a gift-filled shoebox (or two or ten…).

Packing shoeboxes is a fun-filled and hands-on way for you, your family, and your friends to change the lives of children living is situations of war, poverty, disease, and natural disaster. Every shoebox you pack tells a hurting child that he or she is loved and not forgotten, but that is not the end. Shoeboxes also open the door for children and their families to hear the life-transforming Good News of Jesus, God’s greatest gift. Learn more about Packing Shoeboxes!
