All of the gift-filled shoe boxes that have been collected across Canada this year are now starting the long journey to countries throughout the developing world, where each shoe box will eventually be placed in the hands of a child in need. Thank you to everyone who was involved in Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse.

Note: After more than a decade of supplying shoe boxes and collecting shoe box gifts, Canada Safeway will not be continuing its partnership with Operation Christmas Child in 2009. Canada Safeway has decided to focus all of its charitable work on meeting the needs of Canadians and will do so by partnering with five national Canadian charities. Operation Christmas Child has worked to secure additional shoe box collection centers in as many areas as possible, in place of Canada Safeway. We greatly appreciate the many years and hundreds of hours of hard work that Canada Safeway generously donated to Operation Christmas Child.
