Operation Christmas Child

Praising God for His blessings in 2011;

asking for His guidance in 2012

“Give thanks to the Lord for His love endures forever.”

II Chronicles 20:21b

The shoeboxes have been collected, processed, and shipped. We are waiting to see God work, whether it’s in a Customs exoneration, in the signing of important documents, in the provision of necessary transportation, or in that moment when a child looks at that tangible, free shoe box gift and understands that Jesus also gave us a free gift.

We excitedly wait on God, knowing He will be faithful because we have seen it and read about it in His Word.

As we wait to see how He will work through these shoe boxes, may we always keep our eyes on Him. Let us give thanks to Him for all the boxes that were collected in 2011, and trust that He will finish His work in the lives of children who will receive these gifts.

Join us as we praise God for what He has done in 2011, and ask for His hand on domestic and international aspects of Operation Christmas Child in 2012.

 Domestic - Operation Christmas Child

  • Pray for an increase in the number of individuals, families, churches, and groups who participate in Operation Christmas Child this year
  • Pray for safety and protection for the tens of thousands of volunteers who help collect, transport, and process each shoe box gift
  • Pray that all of the Samaritan’s Purse staff, partners, and volunteers are able to overcome the challenges they face this year in order to increase the impact of Operation Christmas Child across Canada.

 International - Operation Christmas Child

  • Pray that God will meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the children who receive shoe box gifts and their families who are living in desperate circumstances, suffering from poverty, sickness, war, or the effects of natural disaster
  • Pray for the hundreds of international volunteers who receive and distribute the shoe box gifts
  • Pray that the shoe box gifts are an effective ministry tool that opens many doors in countries that are not receptive to the Gospel of Jesus Christ
  •  Pray for the implementation of the follow-up discipleship program, The Greatest Journey, that it would open up the hearts of many to receive God’s love and the Good News of Jesus Christ.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks;

for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV
